Cook & Contributor
We’re looking for full-time, enthusiastic, conscientious Cook & Contributor to help develop and execute a small, thoughtful food program at Obladee.

We’re a small, 2-person kitchen focusing on honest, rustic recipes with best-of-breed regional ingredients and a seasonal influence designed to accompany wine.

As a Cook you will liaise with the Kitchen Manager to develop these recipes and help evolve the menu in this direction. You will also care for and manage a carefully curated cheese and charcuterie inventory.

You are a steward of your workspace – contributing to its clean upkeep and organizational standards.

You love good food and feeding people well. You are proficient in many aspects of food preparation, are hard-working, and able to work independently without supervision. You have a good working knowledge of Nova Scotia’s food community – its suppliers, farmers and producers – as well as the types of food it excels at producing.

Relevant experience in busy kitchens is required. A culinary education, experience with menu creation, food inventory management and food costing is an asset.

Excellent organizational skills, a professional and presentable appearance, highly efficient working manner and exemplary communication skills are musts. A drivers licence is an asset.

This is a full-time position, mainly evenings/nights.
